ABC 15 STORY FOLLOW-UP AND CHALLENGE

JOE DUCEY IS NOT UP FOR THE CHALLENGE!

IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS SINCE ABC15 TELEVISION AIRED ITS TWISTED, BIZARRE, AND DISTURBING STORY ABOUT BUSINESS RECOVERY SERVICES (BRS).  DURING THOSE TWO YEARS, BRS HAS ASSISTED ITS CLIENTS RECOVER OVER $1,125,000 IN UNITED STATES FUNDS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF HOME-BASED BUSINESSES.  IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT MR. DUCEY HAS ACCOMPLISHED IN THIS SAME TIME PERIOD, OTHER THAN UNNECESSARILY THROWING MUD AROUND.

SO, THE GAUNTLET WAS DROPPED AND THE CHALLENGE WAS ISSUED TO MR. DUCEY.  MR. DUCEY WAS INVITED TO COME TO BUSINESS RECOVERY SERVICES AND AIR AN ACCURATE FOLLOW-UP STORY IF HE AGREED TO THE FOLLOWING:

(1) BEHAVE LIKE A PROFESSIONAL JOURNALIST;
(2) PERFORM THOROUGH RESEARCH, AND
(3) AGREE TO AIR AN OBJECTIVE STORY.

BRS EVEN OFFERED TO SUPPLY MR. DUCEY WITH ANY INFORMATION THAT WOULD LEAD TO AN OBJECTIVE STORY ABOUT BRS.

AND GUESS WHAT?  WE HAVEN'T HEARD FROM JOE DUCEY SINCE!

BRS GUESSES THAT MR. DUCEY ISN'T INTERESTED IN THE FOLLOWING:

(1) ACTING LIKE A PROFESSIONAL JOURNALIST BY PERFORMING COMPLETE AND THOROUGH RESEARCH
(2) ACTUALLY AIRING AN OBJECTIVE STORY.

SO, WHAT'S THE CONCLUSION?

BRS GUESSES THAT JOE ISN'T UP FOR THE CHALLENGE!

MAYBE THE ONLY TACTIC THAT WORKS FOR JOE, OR THE ONLY TACTIC THAT HE KNOWS, IS THE "BULL-RUSH" APPROACH!

AND, MAYBE HE'S NOT CAPABLE OF REPORTING ON A STORY IN AN OBJECTIVE MANNER!

WHAT A JOURNALIST!!!!!

BRS HAS ATTACHED A COPY OF THE E-MAIL CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN BRS AND JOE DUCEY, SO THAT THE PUBLIC CAN VERIFY THAT MR. DUCEY HAS, INDEED, BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS CHALLENGE, AND THAT HE HAS NOT EVEN RESPONDED, MUCH LESS ACCEPTED, THIS CHALLENGE TO DATE.

OF COURSE, IN THE SPIRIT OF THIS WEBSITE, ANY FUTURE CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE PRESENTED IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER.

Joe,

It's been almost two years since you did that twisted story about Business Recovery Services.  As you remember, last time you tried to "bull-rush" me and utilize cheap Pearl Harbor tactics in a meager attempt to get an interview and a story about Business Recovery Services from me, even though I had already turned you down.  To also stir your memory, I declined the interview because of the blatantly deceptive and dishonest behavior of one Ms. Jodie Heisner.  My personal opinion is that anyone who participated in the ABC15 story about Business Recovery Services should be fired because these individuals selfishly and irresponsibly jeopardized the journalistic integrity of ABC Television.

Well, in those two years, Business Recovery Services has assisted its clients in recovering over $1,000,000 in United States Funds from ill-fated home-based businesses.  How much have you helped people recover from your alleged "Investigative Reports" during that same time period?   Of course, the investigation by the United States Postal Inspector's Office which you referenced in your initial report has concluded without finding any wrongdoing on the part of Business Recovery Services.  With this in mind, I hereby challenge you to show some integrity, have some intestinal fortitude, and air an accurate follow-up story regarding Business Recovery Services.

So, what do you say, Joe?  Are you up for the challenge?

Joe,

You might find this hard to believe.  But, I am actually glad to hear from you.  I didn't expect to hear from you.  Maybe you are a man of integrity after all.  Hopefully, with some luck, we can schedule the on-camera interview in the near future.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you the benefit of the doubt on that "man of integrity" description (at least not yet).  However, I do hope that eventually I can give you that title with a great degree of confidence.  Please understand that, based on my past experience with ABC 15 and the attempt at the "bull-rush" interview (even after your interview request was denied) and the "Pearl Harbor" tactics did not set well with me.  Personally, I believe that's considered to be extremely unprofessional in the journalism field.  I felt like you worked for the National Inquirer as opposed to ABC 15.  But, that's just my opinion.

Of course, to be a "man of integrity", you have to be open to the possibility of recanting your story that ABC 15 aired two years ago.  Are you big enough to do that, Joe?

My concern on this issue is that ABC 15 showed absolutely no respect for my decision to turn down the interview (for example, you could have said "Not available for comment").  In addition, you showed absolutely no respect for this business, and you showed absolutely no respect for the people that work here.  And, let's be honest.  You "bull-rushed" me for the cheap sensationalism that it brought to your newscast, and , who knows, it may have helped your ratings.

Quite frankly, I will proceed cautiously because I don't trust you.  After all, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.  However, my E-mail seemed to provide enough information for you to respond.

As a journalist, I assume that you perform a lot of research BEFORE you air a story.  In this light, what information would you like from me to assist you in your research efforts?  I want you to have all of the information BEFORE we even consider doing an on-camera interview.  So, let's start with the research. Then, after the research is complete, then we'll talk about an on-camera interview.

Also, we have another hurdle to clear.  That hurdle is the deception and dishonesty of one Ms. Jodie Heisner.  She stated that three people had contacted ABC 15 about Business Recovery Services when, in fact, three people had contacted the BBB regarding Business Recovery Services.  She also promised to disclose the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of these three people BEFORE AN ON-CAMERA INTERVIEW WAS TO BE CONDUCTED.  She lied about this as well.

So, how are we going to get past all of this crap and rebuild some trust so that I can be assured that you will air an objective story about Business Recovery Services?  That's why performing research about the successes of Business Recovery Services is invaluable.  Only then will you see the other side of the story.  After all, there are three sides to every story, right?

So, Joe, it's your serve.  What do you say?

Joe,

I haven't heard back from you since your initial letter requesting an on-camera interview.  Of course, I have declined and will continue to decline any on-camera interview until you actually act like a real journalist and do a thorough investigation of ALL THE FACTS regarding Business Recovery Services.

In my last E-mail, I offered to provide you with any information that you may need to perform your research.  To date, you have not asked me for any information regarding Business Recovery Services.  Since "actions do speak louder than words", I assume the following to be true regarding any story about Business Recovery Services:

1) You're not interested in performing an thorough investigation.
2) You're not interested in airing an objective story.
3) You're not up to the challenge Business Recovery Services issued to you last month.

If my assumption is wrong, then please E-mail me a list of information that you need for your complete and thorough investigation and, as long as it appears to be objective and tells the whole story about Business Recovery Services, I will provide it.

Since actions do speak louder than words, it certainly doesn't appear that you're up for the challenge.

So, Joe, are you really up for the challenge?  Or, are you going to try to "bull-rush" me again?

Brian Hessler
