On March 2, 2011, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a press release which stated the following about Russ Dalbey and the Dalbey Education Institute:

In addition, the FTC has filed for a Permanent Injunction, which would prevent Russ Dalbey from potentially injuring any consumers on a permanent basis.
